We talk through your site

You tell us what you have, what it covers and what worries you. We ask about the cameras, the alarm and who should be called when something happens.

2

We survey and test the link

We check that your cameras and recorder can reach our monitoring desk, confirm the picture quality at night and agree the camera views we will watch.

3

We agree your response plan

You decide what counts as a real event, who we call first and whether we contact the police, a keyholder or a guard. The plan is written down and shared with you.

What do people ask us?

Questions customers bring to the first call

Do we need to replace our existing cameras before you can monitor them?

Usually not. Most modern recorders can send pictures to our desk once the connection is set up, so we test what you already have during the survey and only suggest changes where the view or the night picture is too poor to work with.

What happens when an alarm goes off at three in the morning?

The camera view comes up on our screen, we check whether there is a person or vehicle in the frame, and then we follow the response plan you agreed with us. That might be a call to your keyholder, to a guard, or to the police.

Will someone watch my cameras at all times, or are they only checked when an alarm triggers?

It depends on the arrangement you choose. Some customers want their cameras watched continuously through the covered hours, while others want us to respond to alarm activations only. We set out both options and the difference in cost before you decide.

How much does remote monitoring cost for a small site?

The price depends on how many cameras are involved, how many hours a day you want them watched and what you want us to do when something happens. We give a written figure after the survey rather than an estimate over the phone.

Does monitoring work if the internet at our premises goes down?

If the link drops, we lose the picture and the site is effectively unwatched until it comes back, so we flag the loss to you straight away. Some customers add a second connection or a mobile backup to reduce that risk.

How much notice do you need before monitoring can start?

Once the survey is done and the response plan is agreed, most sites are live within a week or two. Larger sites with several buildings or a change of broadband can take longer, and we will tell you honestly which one yours is.
